Introducing the Hungarian Riding for the Disabled Federation

The Hungarian Riding for the Disabled Federation was established in 1997. The aim of our federation is to protect the interests of institutions and individuals involved in equine therapy as a complex preventive, habilitation and rehabilitation solution for health and educational purposes, and to unite such entities.

Our other objectives are:

• training and special training of equine therapists
• development of norms, rules and international standards
• development of international relations
• organising courses and conferences, editing and publishing training materials and publications
• improving the working conditions of people and institutions working in the industry, and boosting the recognition of the profession
• establishment and support of an equine therapy training and demonstration centre
• through the work of the Association, promotion of all branches of equestrian sport
• organisation of competitions for riders with disabilities and the creation of conditions for paralympic competition

HETI introduction

With members in over 45 countries worldwide, the Federation of Horses in Education and Therapy International AISBL (HETI) is a not-for-profit organization established in 1974.

HETI’s mission is to facilitate the worldwide collaboration between organizations and individuals whose objectives are philanthropic, scientific and educational in the field of Equine-Assisted Services.

HETI strives to encourage best practice in Equine-Assisted Services through various resources including the HETI Ethical Guidelines for service provision and equine welfare, educational webinars, its online magazine, national forums and 30 years of research manuscripts from the HETI Journal.

Hest og Helse – «Horse and Health» 1971-2024

• Non- profit organization established in 1971 by Erling Stordalen. Historically a governmentally founded organization.
• Board members with varied backgrounds; psychologists, occupational therapist, social workers, researchers
• 250 members – 120 professional members, the rest private persons.
• Aim: To be Norway’s #1 association for therapeutic horsemanship, and to ensure optimal quality in our work with horses to improve physical, mental and social health in human beings.
• Offers courses in the fields pedagogy, psychology, social work in cooperation with Norwegian National Equestrian Centre.
• Partnerships with state institutions, such as Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and Oslo University Hospital.
• Financially supported by the Department of Agriculture.
• Members of The Foundation Dam, who give financial support to our members.
• Project «Hest og friluftsliv/Horses in nature/outdoor life» in collaboration with The Norwegian Equestrian Association (NRYF) and Directorate of Environment.

The International Children’s Safety Service is a charity organisation founded in 1990, which operates both as an association and as a foundation. Its aim is to provide support to children with physical and mental disabilities, to children growing up outside their families and to other children in need, to improve their living conditions, to provide a stable background for their future and to support children’s institutions. The public benefit organisation operates on a voluntary basis, regardless of religion, political beliefs or nationality. It oversees 12 major programmes, the most prominent of which are health and education and training.

International Children’s Safety Service as the Hungarian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) is dedicated to educate children, parents and teachers and to remove harmful content from the internet. ICSS has been actively involved in this programme since 2009 as a consortium leader, awareness centre and hotline in Hungary.

Our hotline Biztonsagosinternet.hu is an online reporting platform where users can report harmful, illegal content found on the internet. The primary aim of the Hotline is to ensure that harmful and illegal online content which may threaten the physical, psychological and mental development of children is removed from the internet as quickly as possible. To this end, we work closely with the Hungarian authorities, content providers, social media platforms and members of the International Association of Internet Hotlines (INHOPE).
