Presentation Format:

An abstract can be submitted for presentation at the congress as one of the following. (Please note that the Scientific Committee may at its discretion move an accepted submission into another presentation category (oral to poster or poster to oral)

  3. Poster presentation
  1. Oral presentations: 15 minutes plus 5 min for Q&A

Presentation materials should be in PowerPoint and saved as PowerPoint.

  1. Oral (Short papers) is a new submission category. An abstract should be submitted as usual that should be followed by a short paper that after its acceptance and presentation will be published as proceedings in a special edition of HETI Journal: International Research and Practice.

Short papers, which will be presented as oral presentations at the congress. Presentation of Short papers provides an opportunity to describe significant novel work in progress or research that is best communicated in an interactive or graphical format. Compared to full papers, their contribution may be narrower in scope, be applied to a narrower set of application domains, or have weaker empirical support than that expected for a full paper.

  • The deadline for submitting the full text of a Short paper is October 30, 2024. This is not possible without a submitted abstract.

Expectations concerning Short Papers

  • Short research papers must describe original work that has not been previously published, not accepted for publication elsewhere, and not simultaneously submitted or currently under review in another journal or congress.
  • Submissions of short research papers must be in English, in word format, and be at most 4 pages or 1200 words (including figures, tables, proofs, appendixes, acknowledgements, and any content except references) in length, with unrestricted space for references. Submissions should follow the HETI Journal – Manuscript Guidelines 2022of HETI Journal: International Research and Practice.

Applied terminology

There are numerous terms used in our field around the world. Therefore, for the International Congress, HETI provide terminology vocabulary to have a unified understanding. Please use these terms in your abstract to avoid confusion for our participants.

Equine Assisted Services (EAS) – is used as an umbrella term covering all activities and therapies in the areas where a specially trained horse and a service provider are working with people with health or social disadvantages or specific needs.

EAS is divided into:

  1. Equine Assisted Therapy
  2. Equine Assisted Mental/Health
  3. Equine Assisted Learning and Social care
  4. Para-equestrian sport
  5. Therapy equine – a horse or a pony, equine working in EAS
